With Christmas fast approaching and ad after ad delivering the message–we need more, we need bigger, we need better–I found the words of Psalm 49 wise and timely.
“Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like the beasts that perish” (vs. 12).
“Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him” (vs. 16-17).
