Today’s reading: 1 Peter 2:1-3
Once we receive Christ as our Savior, it’s God’s desire that we grow spiritually and become more and more like Christ, deepening our relationship with Him in doing so. But unlike physical growth, which happens naturally, spiritual growth requires effort and intentionality. Thus Peter’s instruction in 1 Peter 2:1-3 to rid ourselves of sinful and harmful behaviors–like malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander–and instead seek after the right and wholesome truth (spiritual nourishment) we can only receive through God’s Word.
How often do you think about your spiritual growth? What you need to do to continue moving forward? On a scale of 1 to 10, how intentional are you about daily spending time in God’s Word? What’s an example of how you have “tasted that the Lord is good”? Tami
