Today’s reading: 2 Samuel 22:1-51
It’s clear from David’s song in 2 Samuel 22 that he and God had a dynamic, interactive relationship. What a moving and beautiful reminder these words provide of just how personal and involved God is in each of our lives when we are in relationship with Him. As I read through this passage again today, I was drawn to the truths conveyed in verses 29-31 which say:
“For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God–his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.”
How is God (and how has God been) your lamp? When have you experienced being able to overcome or accomplish something that seemed impossible because of God’s help? What’s one example from your life when the Word of God has proved true? How has God been your shield and refuge? Tami
