Today’s reading: John 1:6-18
As we move a little further into John 1, we’re given our first, brief look at John the Baptist (verses 6-8). Then John turns his attention fully to Jesus, giving us quite a bit more detail. My attention was immediately drawn to verses 9-13 where John calls Jesus “the true light” and then writes about receiving that light and becoming children of God.
How would you explain John’s identification of Jesus as “the true light” and what that means to someone who isn’t familiar with God, Jesus or church? What additional information did you learn or see about Jesus from these verses? How might you use John 1:1-18 to share the message of Christ and salvation with others? Tami
