Today’s reading: Genesis 18:9-15
Do you ever wonder why God does things the way He does? Let me put that another way. Have you come through an experience where you thought, after the fact, how arriving at that certain endpoint could have happened sooner or through a more obvious and direct route? I sure have, and still do. But what I’ve learned over the years is that the longer, and many times harder, road was necessary in order for me to grow spiritually and for God to receive all the glory in the outcome.
I’m so grateful for how God speaks to us, and how His heart and ways are revealed to us through the life stories, teaching and instruction contained in the Bible. One of the things that never ceases to amaze me about God is how He excels and shines through scenarios that appear uncommon, unusual, strange, bizarre and impossible to us. But as God says to Abraham in Genesis 18:14, “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” The answer, of course, is a resounding “No!”
How does knowing that God excels at working in and through unlikely scenarios impact your thinking and attitude? What circumstance or situation are you facing that seems overwhelming, unbeatable or impossible? Will you give it over to God and trust and lean into Him as you travel the route together? Tami
